Accurate Reels Boss or Boss Magnum ?

Many reels are good, but some are great. Just hold an Accurate reel in your hands it feels like a part from a jet engine. That said there are differant models other than size (197,270,870, and 655's) we won't mention the ATD series as this info does not pertain to them.
Almost all Accurates are Boss, but not all are Boss Magnums. There is a diferance, the Boss Magnums have 7 bearings !The Boss have only 6
Your probably thinking well 6 should be fine right? NO ! the additional 7th. bearing is a 2nd. anti-reverse bearing !The original 6th bearing (anti-reverse) in the Boss are no longer sourceable from the bearing manufacturer.
Accurate had to redesign the gear/handle sideplate to acgeadate2 anti-reverse bearings. This is when they became Boss Magnums! with corresponding redundancy ans easily obtainable parts.
The good news is the older Boss models can be updated, the bad news is its $100 plus shipping. But for that you effectivly get a new reel for your money.
I learned this the hard way on a Wahoo on the Q-105, when that handle starts spinning backwards, it aint fun.
