A Bidding Strategy

There are as many bidding strategies as there are bidders. A lot has to do with how much time you have to sit at the geputer and watch as things develop. I will pass along mine. You are free to use any or all of it as it fits your needs.
First off I decide what the next item Iwant to bid on is. I do some research on it such as checking at least a couple of retail outlets on the web to see what that item is selling for new. This helps in setting my max bid. I'm sure not going to bid more than I can buy it for at the retail outlet. I then search for the item on okay.I like to do business with dealers that I have had good service with before. If I notice one of those dealers, I will check them out first. Then I scan through the list for the lowest starting bids. I will check the little box on each item that seems to have a good price. Having that done I click on the gepare button. This takes each of the items I checked and puts them in a side by side geparison. Here I take several things into account at the same time. I look to see who has the best overall price (starting bid + S/H) as one catches my eye, I check that sellers feedback. I want a dealer that has a 99.8% or better feedback. I might go lower, but that would depend on the reasons for the negative raings. I use a third party product that shows me just the negative and neutral feedbacks for a person. Having done all that, I will take the top three items and put them on watch. While I am still in the search mode, I check the box for gepleted items and search that. It shows all the previous sales for that item in the last 30 days. I add the overall winning bids for each item sold then devide by the number of items sold. This gives me the average selling price for that item.
I look at the first item to close, leaving the other two as backups.I don't like to start bidding on an item till it is within two days of closing. I don't want to wind up bidding that item up while waiting for it to close. If somebody else has a bid in on it, that is fine, I will keep it on watch till the last 12 hours. While I wait, for each item, I take the average selling price and subtract theS/H charges for that item and that gives me my max bid. I gepare that number with what the item goes for at retail stores. I use the lower of the two as my max bid. I put this info in the gements block of my okay. I do this for the two backup items as the max bid will change depending on the S/H charges. I am then ready to start bidding. I keep the items condition in mind as how high I am actually willing to go. I don't bid my actual max until I am within two minutes of closing. If I am in the lead at that point all I have to do is sit back and see if someone snipes the item in the last few seconds. If I win great. If not I go to my backups and start the bidding process again.
I hope this has helped. Good luck in your bidding.

Voodoo

With the spell dolls I sell in both WICCA RELATED ITEMS and VOODOO RELATED ITEMS I get asked this question alot, thought I'd write a short help-guide to answer for those that need to know. THANKS FOR VIEWING ! :0)
Wicca it would be more associated with negative energies / negative forces than actually called Black Magick....but for the majority of buyers out there it means the same thing to them and Voodoo and Wicca are similiar in MANY ways.
Yes, you can place a hex on someone who lives far away BUT it would require having something belonging to the person or at very least writting their name and attaching to the spell doll. The spell would be MUCH, MUCH stronger if the spell caster (doll owner) and the person hex is to be used on have a past or current connection, most DO or there would be little need for a hex on someone. The more recent the gemunication or meetings with this person, the more powerful and quick the spell will start to happen. All of my spell dolls have had a powerful spell placed on the doll during the creation process. All spell dolls gee with a hand-signed doll activation instruction scroll tied in cloth and a pearl-colored pin !
You MUST remain focused on controlling your surrounding energies and ALWAYS ask yourself if there is truely a need to take this route with the person you are angry with ?? Remember bad karama brings twice fold what you give unto others....this is true only if the person you are seeking revenge upon has NOT done you mental or physical harm in some way. You can bring revenge upon another twice fold in return if they have earned it through abuse to theyou (or the person activating the spell). You can bring far worse to mean spirited, cold-by-heart type of person that is naturally evil. It is ALWAYSgood to have a jinx remover spell or hex-blocker spell doll JUST incase you get a little carried away with your revenge!
I have over 500 Wicca

Mirror ball tips

Mirror Balls add elegance to formal events.
There are several considerations when shopping for a mirror ball. First is the tiles should be real glass. Secondly the smaller the tiles the more reflective points and therefore the better the effect.
There are three parts to creating a mirror ball effect, the ball, a motor to rotate the ball and a light source to shine on the ball.
Mirror balls gee in sizes based on diameter from as small as 2" to 60". Most venues will not need a ball larger than 20", even Radio City Music Hall's mirror ball is only 36". Motors to rotate the ball are available in AC (requires an outlet to plug into) and DC (is battery operated.) Usually the slower the RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) the better. The last part is the light source. In most cases the fixture used is called a Pin Spot. A Pin Spot uses a low voltage sealed beam bulb that has an extremely narrow output of light (the same bulb used for police car search lights.)
Positioning the ball is important as it changes the effect and dictates the number of light sources necessary to create the best effect. Usually you will see a mirror ball in the center of a room, this position ideally needs three light sources for the best effect. The lights should be positioned 120 degrees apart for even coverage. If the ball is next to a wall or in the corner of the room only one light source will be required.
Mirror balls are considered a large effect as it can fill the entire room, and is inexpensive to acgeplish gepared to more sophisticated effects. So do it right and get out there and dance.

What is Spyware How to Remove It - Spybot and Ad-Aware

Free stuff on the internet is like candy from strangers. If it looks good and you want it, it is more than likely not good for you. Dont take it. It will probably be laced with spyware and/or other nasty programs. We teach our kids not to take candy from strangers. The same care and effort should go into managing our geputers.
Spyware is one of many nicknames for programs that hijack your geputer for a variety of nefarious purposes. Unlike viruses, spyware initially gets on your geputer because of something you download or a web page you visit. It could even gee in an e-mail. On October 4, 2004, Business Week magazine reported that spyware was on an exponential rise. Business Week quoted Microsoft as blaming spyware for one-third of all PC crashes.
Examples of spyware programs or carriers include Gator, Bonzi Buddy, Weatherbug, WildTangent games, iWon and other gambling/sweepstakes utilities, Kazaa and most music-sharing programs, most Internet Explorer toolbars or search enhancers, most free screen savers, and even many programs claiming to be spyware removal utilities or system enhancements. AOL and AIM are also vectors.
Some of the things spyware will do: pop-up windows while you're browsing the internet track and report your browsing habits to advertisers, change your home page, modify search results, and change web links to redirect your browsing. The nastier versions let other people take remote control of your geputer or change your internet dial-up to call a 900 number and charge fees to your phone bill.
Spyware works in the background. Modern geputers can support many background processes without us even noticing, but load enough junk on and they will start to slow down and crash. Sometimes spyware that manages to get installed on your geputer will turn around and download even more spyware without asking you! Spyware can begee such a burden that the geputer doesnt have time for anything else.
These infections are very hard to remove. Many of the nastier ones will try to reinstall themselves after you try to remove them. Sometimes the only solution is to reformat the hard drive. Antivirus programs don't do much about spyware. Spyware is usually quasi-legal software. Remember, you chose to install the stuff, even if you didn't realize it at the time. Many times it is even mentioned in the EULA you checked of on before downloading or installing the free programs.
Your browsing habits can help prevent spyware infestations. We regemend the free Firefox web browser over Internet Explorer (IE), which has a long history of security problems. Set Mozilla as your default browser and use IE only for websites that don't work with alternative browsers (e.g. Windows Update). Avoid pop-up download offers. Spyware/adware can be bundled with an attractive item like a desktop weather report. Ask yourself if you really need Weatherbug (for example) or some other fancy utility when you can just check the weatherat weather.ge.
A useful tool to remove spyware from your geputer and block new infections is Spybot Seach-and-Destroy. Spybot is shareware, meaning that you can download and use it for free but you should send a donation to the programmer, Patrick Kolla. Just like antivirus software, Spybot should be updated periodically and run every month or two to check your geputer for new infestations.

Tea Timer, a geponent of Spybot, is a resident gatekeeper that actively monitors any change to the system registry. The registry is a central control system for your geputer's software. Any changes to your system registry with Tea Timer installed cause a pop-up window asking for you to Allow change or Deny change. The Tea Timer window looks like this:

There are some rules-of-thumb for allowing or denying changes:
If you were intentionally installing or removing a program, you should allow the change. If the warning pops up any other time, it is probably spyware working in the background. Double-check the message, and when in doubt deny the change. This is especially true if you are browsing the internet when Tea Timer pops up!
Updates and software installations necessarily change the system registry. Any intentional change to the registry should be allowed. Thats why its best to exit the resident Spybot Tea Timer before any planned update or software installation. Look for the small padlock icon next to your system clock. Right-click it and choose to Exit Spybot-S

Home Funerals and Green Burial Become Popular Again

In today's society it is taken for granted that our dead are prepared and buried by the local funeral home. Many people somehow think they are required by law to use the services of a funeral home, that they must be either cremated or embalmed and buried in a leakproof casket in a concrete vault. Nothing is farther from the truth. Homepreparation of the dead is legal in all states but 4 (with some states having requirements and restrictions). Embalming is gepletely optional and serves no other purpose than to slow down the natural degeposition of the body. It was introduced during the Civil War as a means to preserve fallen soldiers brought home from the fields and serves no sanitary purpose. In fact, it is because of the toxic chemicals contained in the embalmed corpse that coffins are required to have vaults. Natural bodies do not pollute the earth.
In some parts ofAppalachia preparing the deadat home is still practiced as it has been for centuries. Attending to the ritual washing and laying out of a loved one honors them and is part of the grieving process for the bereaved.Bodies are wrapped in handmade grave shrouds or quilts and laid in the earth directly, or in a biodegradable coffin, and buried on family land. This is the essence of Green Burial - a new name for an old practice.
The current trend toward Green Burial was started at the Ramsey Creek Preserve outside of Westminster, South Carolina by Dr. Billy Campbell, a West Virginia native familiar with home burial in his own culture. Ramsey Creek is a Memorial Ecosystem which accepts bodies in their natural state and returns them to the earth to begin the degeposition process. Because there are no toxic chemicals in the body, the earth is enriched instead of poisoned by its presence. Often trees are planted at the site to draw the last benefit of life from the process of death.
The cost of a traditional funeral is around $6,000.00. A Green Burial averages $2,000.00 in a Memorial Park and less by special arrangement with private landowners.
Green Burials are not for everyone, but it is good to have the choice.
If you want to read more about this subject I regemend reading Caring for Your Own Dead (1987), or Caring For the Dead - The Final Act of Love (1998) by Lisa Carlson. These books give detailed instructions for the correct way to handle a body for home burial as well as a guide to how to submit the forms you need at a death. Try searching the web for the Ramsey Creek Preserve to learn more of the services offered there.

Memory Wire for Bracelets and Jewelry

Memory wire for Bracelets and Jewelry
acculon 3 ply beading wire

Memory wire is a coil of loops of wire that go back into the coil shape on it's own that's why it is called Memory wire. It gees in different sizes. You can buy memory wire for rings, toe rings, bracelets, and choker necklaces. Memory wire gees in Youth size memory wire for bracelets, which is about a 7" bracelet. The adult memory wire size is about an 8" bracelet. It is a stong wire but yet small enough for 2mm beads. It is 2 and 1/2" size wire for the youth or small bracelet. The small bracelet is small enough for a child but will fit a 7" bracelet size for an adult. It gees in copper, a dark grey metal, gold plated, silver pleated, also sterling silver. Usually it gees in loops of 12 prepackaged, but here on okay you can purchase many different amounts. I prefer the 50 loop a package myself. But I have bought it in 70 loops and 20 loops.

Memory Wire
memory wire loops
Memory wire can be used with 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm beads. It can hold the weight of this size beads. Anything heavier and the memory wire will not spring back to it's original shape. I use 3mm bead end caps for my bracelets made using memory wire. They are not so big they look gawdy they finish the ends of the bracelet perfectly. You can cut memory wire into as many loops as you want. I use one loop which I cut about 1/3 to 1/4" more then the single loop. Or I use three loops for a multiple wrap bracelet. Memory wire is sold in packages or coils of loops, usually with seventy to ninety loops. You can buy bigger lots of it though.

Memory wire loops
Memory wire for bracelets
Memory wire for rings

Memory wire is easy to work with and works well with most beads in 2mm, 3mm and 4mm sizes. It cuts easily with a pair of wire cutters. To finish off these bracelets they have Memory wire bead end caps. I used the 2mm size on my memory bracelets. They are small enough even for the dainty bracelets yet they do not take away from the bold beaded bracelets. They are glued on the ends of the memory wire to finish off the bracelet. Memory end bead caps are a small spacer round bead which is drilled half way through to fit on the end of the wire to finish off the rough edge.

Memory Wire
Gemstone beads work well with this wire in a 4mm size. The gemstone chips do not work as well. This is because of the hole sizes and the angles of the holes. They often will not go on the wire. So unless you want to lose half the amount of your beads because they do not fit, do not use gemstone chips. These beads below are more examples of a 4mm bead you can use on the memory wire to dress up a nice gemstone or crystal bead you choose for your wrap bracelet. They can be found here on okay under sterling silver beads or spacer beads. Check out some of our okay links below for your sterling silver beads or spacer beads.

Sterling silver spacer beads
These beads work well with the memory wire also, they are the sterling silver mesh ball round spacer bead. They fit easily onto the wire without being too big. They really dress up the bracelet giving it a more elegant look.

I found memory wire works really well with 4mm crystal beads, and spacer beads and bars in 2mm, 3mm, and 4mm sizes. Freshwater pearls also in 4mm and even the heavier jade beads will work with memory wire as long as you don't go over a 4mm size. With gemstone beads I wouldn't go smaller then the 4mm because of the hole size varies just enough some may not fit. Here is another example of 4mm beads called rondells, they also will dress up a bracelet and work well on the memory wire. Find these beads on okay under sterling silver beads and spacers.

Plated gold and silver spacer beads
These beats also work well with memory wire. They are the star dust spacer rondelles. They work well with this wire and are usually in 3mm or 4mm size.
Not all our memory wire wrap bracelets are made with sterling silver, we do have silver and gold plated beads and spacers too. Up above the link will take you to our big selections of spacers and beads in silver and gold plating.
Memory wire for rings work best with the tiny 2mm spacer beads and just one or a few different 3mm beads for decoration. Otherwise the ring would be too bulky and very ungefortable to wear. You can still experiment alot even in this size with the different spacer beads and bars and also different 3mm beads on the top.
With the Memory wire for Choker the same rules work well 2mm, 3mm, 4mm bead sizes. With Chokers you can experiment more with a special bead or charm in the center of the choker for all different styles. To go bigger with the beads you would lose all your flexibility of the memory wire.

Crystal Beads
In the picture above you see examples of the beautiful Swarovski Austrian Crystal beads, you pay a little more for these beads but they are well worth the money. They are very brillant in their rainbow of colors as you look at the crystals in the light. Above the link will take you to all our crystal beads not just our Austrian Crystal or Swarovski or Czech. We have a vast selection of crystal beads here on okay.
You can try all different patterns to make very different looking bracelets. I put all my patterns down on paper. Just to see the difference in the size of my spacer beads and bars to the size of my beads. The size of the spacer bars can really make a difference in the style of your bracelet. To make bracelets that look bigger you can use 4mm spacer beads and it makes a bigger sturdier bracelet. For a daintier bracelet the 4mm crystals look beautiful with the tiny 2mm spacer beads with the 2mm spacer bars. This gives you an idea of size, placement and approximately just how many beads and spacers you will need.
The different styles of bracelets can be endless. I have about 20 to 25 different patterns down with very little different beads and spacers and bars on hand. You can use so many different beads in this 2mm, 3mm and 4mm size.
I had alot of fun just experimenting with crystals at first. Then I changed them with a variety of 2mm spacer beads and bars. I also tried the bigger 3mm and 4mm spacer beads and bars. I even made a much sturdier bracelet using 4mm Garnet gemstone beads and mesh tubes and also mesh spacer beads for a thicker sturdier bracelet.

This is just one example of some of the memory wrap bracelets we have here on okay for sale. We have many different styles and kinds of bracelets. The link below will take you to auctions for many of our Memory wire bracelets.
Memory wire bracelets
I enjoyed working with the memory wire, it is easy to work with and makes a very attractive bracelet. I like the Wrap bracelet alot because the do not have fasteners which can be hard to fasten and these bracelets wrap easily around your wrist.

Memory wire bracelets examples

This bracelet above is an example of how using smaller beads how dainty you can make your bracelet. Using all different beads you get many bracelets with very different looks.

I hope this article has helped some of you beginning beaders. I know I didn't know anything about beading wires when I started. We do not have alot of guides out there for this so I though I would at least be helpful to all the beginners.
Rule of thumb #12 wire works well for earrings and light bracelets, stick to the 2mm, 3mm and 4mm beads.
This wire doesn't say #12 on it but it is the 3 strand wire that is very flexible, you may notice sometimes the auctions for the wire does not put the number 12 on the listing. Three ply or strand is a good ply for small bead bracelets and earrings. You will need the 7 strand flexible for heavier bracelets.

acculon beading wire 3 strand
#14 and above wire for heavier bracelets. Then you can use the heavier beads but some of the 2mm and 3mm beads may not fit. This wire is usually 7 strands in one wire where the #12 is usually 3 ply of wire in one strand.

Movement Wear and Freezing Damage to Excavated Bottles

In old dump sites, where a lot of bio-debris, wood, paper, metal and tin cans were discarded along with the bottles you are going after, there's a lot of movement in the ground over the following decades. These degradable items would continuously shrink and move over the years, causing a lot of activity, movement and settling to the ground around them. This can cause a lot of wear over time to a bottle, scratching, cracking, pinging, bruises, stress-fractures and total breakage.

Solar Electric Photovoltaic Systems

What is a Photovoltaic (PV) System?
The major geponent of a PV system is the photovoltaic solar panel, hence the acronym PV. Any numbers of solar panels are connected together to geplete a solar array. The solar array can have varying output wattage depending on the size and output of each panel, and the number of panels used in the array. All of these variables can be customized to meet the homeowners specific needs, taking in to consideration his or her consumption needs, the percentage of the utility bill they want to replace and the amount of southern exposed roof space or other suitable area available. In order to make the DC power produced by the PV array usable in your home, a device called an inverter is required to convert the DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current) which is used by all the appliances and lighting in your home now. The Inverter also ties your system to the utility gepany, and regulates when and how power is drawn from or sold back to the utility grid. In some cases homeowners use DC lighting fixtures and buy new DC powered appliances, but this is not usually practical for the average homeowner. Inverters are one of the most expensive geponents of the system and have a predetermined capacity, so the PV system must be designed with this in mind to create the most economical investment.
Is your home suitable for a PV System?
The most optimal home is one with a major portion of the roofline having a southern exposure, although roofs with a south-westerly or south-easterly exposure may also be acceptable. If your roof is not suitable then the PV Array can be mounted on a patio cover, pool house, on a pole, or on a ground rack. The most important requirement is that the panels have unobstructed exposure to the sun all through the year.
Grid Tied System , Utility Rules, Interconnection Agreement
What is an Interconnection Agreement? When connecting your PV system to the utility grid your power gepany may require you to sign an Interconnection Agreement. This is a contract between you and the power gepany.
Net Metering
Net Metering is a program with the power gepany that accepts power from your PV system allowing your meter to spin backwards when it produces a surplus of electricity, and forwards when your house has a demand for electricity. This in effect will cancel out many of the kilowatt-hours charged to your bill significantly reducing it. If your system produces more than used in any given month you will be credited for the excess on the next bill. There is a great incentive here to purchase and have your system installed as soon as possible. Many Energy gepanies are offering this program on a first gee first serve basis. So the moral of the story is if you can afford it, or get a loan for it do it now.

Dont sweat the little things.

Sometimes, we stress every little thing in our lives, and feel bad that we cant be superheros and get everything done. But, here are a few tips to help you manage your time effectively.SET YOUR ALARMIf you have trouble remembering little things, dates, times, etc, set your alarm on your watch or cell hone for that day or time. Its like a technologically advanced string around your finger.STOP AND BREATHE.Sometimes taking a mini break is all you need to start fresh. grab a drink, sit for a minute, or hehe..... blog for a second. Just a secind though. and then, get back to work feeling refreshed.EAT SOMETHINGgrab a granola bar. or better yet, grab a pepperment patty, and munch on a peice while you work. the little sweetness will make your job happier.MUSICplay something soft if you are trying to create, or if you are cleaning, really blast your music and rock out while you dust. making a job seem fun with music always works for me.MAKE TIMEmake time for the big things like work and the home and everything, but make time for your family and yourself too. doesnt have to be alot. 15 minutes helping my son with homework, ten minutes lovey dovey with my hubby before he falls asleep, five minutes to read a book to my son, and a hot shower is sometimes all i can fit in there, but it does matter. every minute you devote to your family MATTERS.MAKE A LISTMake a list of to-dos, and then check them off when you finish them. I put a smiley face sticker on my to-do list, and i feel acgeplished. lol Get a corkboard or a postit board for your refridgerator. keep track of things yu can put off till tommorow, and things you need to do TODAY. sometimes i find myself working on things that I am not gonna list for another week, when there are things that need to be packaged and shipped sitting on the table.GET SOME AIR.five minutes in the fresh air always helps when i am overwhelmed. Try just tossing pebbles, or looking at the birds for a few minutes.CRACK DOWNTell yourself: "OK, you can have that few minutes on the blog/outside/on the phone, but only five. ANd then you are gonna work till you finish" and stick to it. then reward yourself! chocolate is good. a bath is good.DONT SWEAT THE LITTLE THINGSIf you got HALF of your to do list done, dont worry about the fact that there are a few dishes in the sink, or you fed your family pizza (they love it lol) or that you didnt get the lint roller out and go over your sofa with it........ the point is, congreatulate yourself for what you DID do!And last but not least, like everything, try to fit a little fun in there somewhere.

Lady*Refined

Rebecca is the owner of Lady*Refined, and is the most helpful, kind, caring, friendly, courteous, and down-right sweet person that I know on okay. We are approximately the same sizes, and I have often had to impose on her to begee my "Manniquin".
I have gotten the most beautiful blouses from Rebecca and her site, Lady*Refined. My husband has even been helpful to me - willingly. He dislikes shopping, so helping me choose one of the manygorgeous, satin or vintage blouses in Rebecca's site is a "snap" for him. We have NEVER been disappointed with anything that we've gotten from her site, Lady*Refined. I once told Rebecca that on a 1 to 10 scale...shopping with her is a 125!
She actually CARES about her customers, to the point of wanting to know how they are doing, and gives a hearing ear to any problemsor questions that they might have. Rebecca answers emails and "Contact Member" questionsin lightening-fast time!

Fake Abercrombie jeans and real Abercrombie jeans

I will show the difference between a fake abercrombie jeans and a real one.
Firston the label the fake one has an error on it. It is written "estaslished" instead of "established" and the label is not the same size and color.

On the other label, on the fake jeans, after a wash the words are erased and on the real one the words are still there.

On the pocket inside the fake jeans, the words are blur with a lot of white ink.On the real jeansthe words arenot blur and have an used, vintage style.

On the button fly inside the jeans, on the fake jeans it is written "lo wrise" and yousee 1892 on the back of the buttons. On the real jeans, it is written "lowrise" and there are no 1892 on the back of the buttons.

The paints spots on the fake jeans are like that. It is an ocean wash.

On the real one there arelike that

hope it helps

Creating Your Ideal Sleeping Area

Slipping into sleep when you need to is made easier by subtly changing the way you use your bedroom.
The way you use your bedroom can have a profound effect on your ability to get a good night's sleep. Your bedroom is you sanctuary-a calm and relaxing place that, since your childhood, has been a personal space in which you can relax and be yourself.
If you're sharing an apartment or living in a small space, however, you're as likely to use your bedroom for entertaining guests, studying, working and eating as you are for sleeping.
BED IS FOR SLEEPING
If your bedroom is also your general living space, you may find it difficult to psychologically switch off at bedtime. If this is the case, you need to train your body to associate your bed with sleep. Get into bed only when you are really tired and on the verge of falling asleep. If you feel like reading or watching TV, relax in a chair or even on cushions on the floor rather than sitting in bed.
Making simple changes to the way use your bedroom will help you into the habit of drifting off to sleep easily.

Satellite VS Cabel

This guide pertains to Satellite dishs like Dish Network for tvand Direcway for high speedinternet.
I had used both systemsfor several years untill Armstrong cabel came along just a few months ago with high speed internet and anexcellent tv lineup for less than half of what i was paying forDish And Directway services.
Direcway was costing me $69.00 a month and it was about five times faster than dial up with the DW6000 modem but the Armstrong cabel is about ten times faster than my Direcway system was.
Dish network was costing me $86.00 a month and i just had the top 120 channel line up plus some local channels. My main reason for going with Dish network was for the high def tv signal with the 811 dish receiver.
A few months went by befor i noticed i could'nt tell one bit of difference between the so called high def channels and the digital ones and neither could anyone else.
Now that i have Armstrong Cabel for both internet access and tv programing is no longer a problem because i have a DVR programing is simple and i can rewind or pause live tv sonowmy entire family is happy at 1/2 the price of both satellite systems gebined
No more sweeping and scrapeing ice and snow on a cold Winters night,i would regeend cabel to anyone who can get it for both internet access and tv.
I hope this guide will help because i learned the hardway.
Happy okaying
It was'nt my tv's fault because i got the best 65 inch Hitachi on the market with surround sound, the dish system was a real pain to use with a vcr because no one in my family could program anything but me.

CB Watt Meters on HF

Most CB watt meters will not work on the HF ham bands. CB watt meters were designed to work from 25 to 30 MHz especially those from the 1970s So be sure to check up on the specs before you bid. Don't just take someone's word. Many people who buy such equipment from estate sales consider CB and Ham as the same, not knowing the difference.

Postcards on s

Postcards are a popular item here on okay. Alot of us don't use them anymore with the advancement of email. but our parents and grandparents used to use them. Postcards are often keptas a reminder of a wonderful vacation or adventure. Check with your family. They probably still have them somewhere in an old shoe box.Even the postcards that have been postmarked and written on are sellable.
What to look for:
Postmarked before 1970
Made from actual pictures
Amusement Parks (especially Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, etc)

Speak and Write Deliberately - Better Communication

Reading and Writing Deliberately
If you are not interested in improving your gemunication skills, you most likely will not find this guide helpful. I am telling you this up front so that you dont waste your time reading it. However, if you would like to improve your gemunication skill and have a few minutes to spare, read on.
Why Does It Matter?
I cannot tell you how often I have heard people say that good grammar doesnt matter. When it gees to writing, they find punctuation, sentence structure, and capitalization to be a waste of time. They say that as long as the content is there, it doesnt matter how it is presented. I think they are mistaken.
I will give you a few examples of why having unstructured content is like having no content at all.
When your words are all run together without the things I mentioned before, many people will tune out at first sight. They will veer away from anything that looks like a mess. So, they never get to the content.
Try reading the following:

reading and riting delibertly if you are not interested in improving your gemunication skills you mos likely will not find this guide helpful i am telling youthis up front so that you dont wast your time reding itif you would like improve your gemunications skill and have a few minutes to spare read on why does it mater i cannot tell you how often i had hear peolpe say that good grammar dont matter when it gees to writing they find punctuation sentence structure and capitalization to be a wast of time hey say that as long as the content is there it dont matter how ot id presented i think there mistaken i will give you a few example of why having unstructure content is like having no content at all when you words are all run together without the things I mention before many people will tune out at first sight they will veer away from anything that looks like a mess.
Now try this one:

improve writin ??? readdont care donthelpful? You seegrammer punctuation structure ... ???matter??
Were those difficult to read? Did you even actually read them? Do you think my examples are extreme? Let me tell you, I have seen much worse right here on okay. I have seen this in listings, guides, reviews, and blog posts. Many of the people who write in this manner wonder why no one votes on their guides or why few people respond to their blog posts.
When you write in this manner, you send a message out to your audience. That message is that you dont care enough about your subject to concern yourself with how you present it. If you couldnt be bothered to write it with some consideration, why should anyone bother to read it? Why would anyone take that seriously?
If you went to your local book store and purchased a book, would writing like that be acceptable to you? If your daily paper looked like that, would you keep your subscription? Would you go to a university that had its information written like that in its About Us pamphlet? I suspect your answer to all of thoseis "no." So, if you wouldnt tolerate it, why would you expect anyone else to?
When you speak, do you talk in circles? Do you find that people misunderstand what you are trying to say? Do you find yourself stopping in mid-sentence to go back and restate something? Do you find that you are stuttering? Do you find yourself repeating the same phrase two or three times in a row? Do you speak in ingeplete sentences? Do you mumble and trail in and out of sentences? Do you find people looking at you like you have three heads when you speak?
It is exhausting, at times, to decipher what people are trying to say. Many people just open their mouths for the sake of talking without having any idea what it is they want to say, let alone how they want to say it. They just start spitting out words that somehow connect, yet dont or they dont seem to. They break silence and begin sentences with words like no, nah, yeah, and yes as if they are responding to something.
Misgemunication is probably one of the leading catalysts for arguments. People forget something very important. When they speak or write there is generally a recipient who will interpret what they say. The more precisely you express what it is you are trying to get across the more closely your audience will receive it in the way you intend. The old adage, say what you mean and mean what you say actually means something.
Solutions
When I write and when I speak I put thought intowhatever I am doingbefore I do it and while I am doing it. I think about what it is I want to say and I am careful to say it in the way I intend it. I call this speaking and writing deliberately. That does not mean that I never confuse anyone. I do.That does not mean thatI never misstate.I do. But it isnt for lack of trying to get my point across.
So many people, as I have mentioned, just speak. They use clichs or phrases they have heard without giving any consideration to what they are actually saying. The example that gees to mind is the phrase I couldnt care less. So many people say I could care less. They say it that way because that is what they have heard or that is what they think they heard. But when you actually think about it you realize those two statements mean entirely different things.
A gemon problem in written gemunication is that people type what they hear in their heads as they are typing. Why is this a problem? It is a problem because they are typing what they hear not what they mean. I will give you several examples of this.
When people think of or say the words shouldve, couldve, and wouldve, they are hearing should of, could of, and would of. Unfortunately, that is often how they write the words. It is a natural mistake because the sound of the ve, when it follows the d, sounds like an actual word - "of." When I think during writing, I try to break up all contractions. I try to avoid them whenever possible because they can throw you for a loop as in this example.
Another contraction that gets obliterated or omitted all together is youre. This of course, stands for "you are." However, whensome people say it, it sounds not much different from your. So many times your is used instead. This brings me to theyre. The same problem exists here. This one is a bit more geplex though.
This particular word brings into light a series of words that present problems in that people confuse one for the other regularly. Again, I attribute this to the fact that people are writing based on what they hear in their heads rather than thinking about what it is they are saying. The easiest way for me to go through these is to list them with their proper use.

Their This is possessive. This is what you use when referring to something belonging to more than one person. Have you seen their house? There This is used for proximity or location. Put that there.Theyre They are. Plural subject and verb. They are going to the movies.Therere There are. This one will be discussed in more detail in the next paragraph.Theirs - Again possessive. That is theirs.Theres There is. This one deserves a bit of attention of its own.
Theres is gemonly used in place of therere. It almost seems that therere is disappearing from the lips of all people. The reason that people use this incorrectly, again, is because they apply no forethought to what they are about to say. This problem is gemon both in speaking and in writing. When you are about to use this word think about what you are about to say. Are you talking about one thing? Are you talking about more than one thing? Here is a good example of one waypeople errwith these words.
Therere (there are) a lot of nice things in this store.
The word lot is singular even though it means a group of things. Therefore, this sentence should be Theres a lot
By the way, there is no such word as alot. It is a lot.
Now for another example:
Theres nice people here. Would you say there is nice people here? It is there are nice people here, thereby, therere nice people here. This example brings us straight to another gemonly misused word in written gemunication:
Here Proximity or locationHear A sense. What you do with your ears.
Again this presents a gemon problem similar to that in the examples above. Heres and herere are gemonly used in one anothers stead.
There are so many words like this. I am going to mention one more set of words here, because by now, I think you get the gist of what I mean in the above examples. This set stands alone because they sound nothing alike. There are three words: because, "as,"and since. People gemonly use since in place of "because" or in place of as. What will help is if you remember that since is time related.
Correct use - It has been a long time since I last saw you.Incorrect use Since you are going anyway, pick up some toilet paper.Correct use As you are going anyway, pick up some toilet paper.Incorrect use I decided to stay a while since I had nothing to do for the afternoon.Correct use I decided to stay a while because I had nothing to do for the afternoon.
This may all seem nitpicky to you. But what you find is that when people stop thinking about the little things that they are saying, they eventually stop think about the big things. Finally, they stop thinking about the entirety. And, therein lies the problem.
As for punctuation and capitalization, that boils down to putting forth the effort to do it. Honestly, how difficult is it to insert a period or to hold the shift key while typing? I realize that punctuation can be a bit more geplex than that, but it is a good start. I will leave that at that.
Finally, use spell check and proof read. Almost everything that we use these daysfor written gemunicationhas some spell checker built in. Use it! But, when you use it, realize that it wont catch everything. You will have to proofread on top of using spell check. Some of the gemon things that spell check will miss are:
an instead of and, and instead of anof instead of haveto or too instead of top, top instead of to, to instead of too
I think you get the picture. Proofread aloud. Actually pay attention to what you are reading. It is also a good idea to get someone else to proofread for you. Our eyes play tricks on us. When we read familiar material, our eyes read what they expect to read rather than what is actually written.
It takes a great deal of practice to refine these skills. And, none of usare perfect. We will make mistakes.I do all the time. However, it is worth the effort to at least try to improve. Speaking and writing deliberately can make a world of difference in how you are received.

I reserve the right to be human and err. Nothing here was written to intentionally misinform or otherwise mislead. 2006 Trina Hoaks

Negotiating the key to closing the deal

Negotiation, the Key to Closing the Deal.

Once you begin to find the deals, the key to actually closing them is
the ability to negotiate. It all starts by making offers. If the
sellers are really motivated to sell, you need to understand their
motivation. In most cases, these sellers are moving the property to
solve a problem. Your job is to help them solve that problem, and
tailor your offer accordingly. I have bought several properties by
keying into what the seller really wants, like money to move or a
flexible move date. If you can help them solve their problem, they will
be grateful to you and may concede on a term or price that you thought
unattainable. You buy at steep discounts and the seller is happy about
it. That is what creative real estate investing is all about. Many
sellers, particularly distressed sellers, have other 'hot buttons'
besides top dollar for their property.

1. Don't Feel Guilty! This is
especially true if you are negotiating with a financial institution.
Remember, you are helping them solve a problem. Whether that problem is
financial or otherwise, you are offering a solution that will benefit
the seller. You are not taking advantage of them or their situation.
You are trying to make it better in a way that will benefit both of
you. If it won't benefit the seller, or if they don't want to do it,
they won't accept your offer. If they do accept your offer, it is
because they wanted to. That's all there is to it.

2. Be Confident and Know Your Position
If you feel confident about your offer, it puts you in a position of
strength. Collect the critical information you need to formulate an
offer (See my other guides on cold calling). By collecting this
information up-front, you can create two or three possible buying
scenarios before you even meet with the seller for the first time. On
the other hand, if you are unsure, and you let it show, it puts the
seller in a position of strength. If you are strong and sure of
yourself, they are more likely to offer concessions in order to make
the deal work. After all, you are the expert and you are hitting their
need. At the same time, know your limits. Establish your breaking point
beforehand so you know when it is time to walk away. And don't be
afraid to do so!

Know before-hand what you can pay for a property. Dont second guess
yourself. I cant tell you how many times I walked away from a deal,
only to have the seller call back a week or even a month later and
offer me a better price then what I originally walked from. Remember
all deals are fluid. The sellers situation is constantly changing.
Follow up is critical here since the majority of deals are done through
follow up. Also, know what concessions you want and what you are
willing to give. If you can be flexible in some areas, it may encourage
the seller to be flexible as well. But again, know your limits. Walk
into a negotiation asking for something that you are willing to give
away. If you get it, great but be willing to concede it. For example,
ask for the appliances but give them to the seller if they move the
close date for you. You get the picture. This is where creativity can
really pay off. I got a beautiful antique piano one time, just because
I asked for it. It turned out the seller was worried about moving it
and I ended up with a nice piano for my kids. You never know the answer
until you ask the question.

3. Know the Market. This rule
is critical. If you don't know the market in that area, how can you
tell if you are really getting a good deal? If you are buying a rental
property, know the rental rates for other properties of that type in
that area. Are the rents below market value? Are they above? Those
numbers make a difference in the potential resale price as well as the
price you are willing to pay. Remember, you make your money when you
buy, so take the time to buy right. If you are using a CMA from the
selling agent to figure your exit value, get another opinion. You may
be better served to get a broker's opinion of value (BPO) or a CMA from
an agent not connected to the transaction.

4. The Asking Price is Always Too High.
No matter what they are asking, this is a fixed negotiating rule. The
first price is always too high, just as your first offer will always be
too low for them. Enough said.

5. Close the Deal Now. Be ready
to conclude the deal, write the offer, and pay the terms now, not in
four or six weeks. Secure private capital so you can make all cash
offers or go into a deal with an approval letter in hand from your
lender. It shows them you are serious. By the same token, be willing to
walk away now if the terms do not meet your criteria. I like to make
all cash offers that close quickly as soon as title work is done with a
short three-day inspection period. But you need to know your seller.
Banks love all cash and fast. They want the property off the books. By
contrast, a large family may panic and refuse the offer because they
cant move that fast. Know your seller's hot buttons. However, if you
close the deal, be sure to have a 'weasel clause' in the contract (no
more than one is necessary, in our opinion). These clauses are the ones
that will let you out of the deal at a later date if you decide that
something is wrong, or your inspection turns up something you didn't
expect. Here are some sample clauses:

Contingent upon attorney approval
Contingent upon partner approval
Contingent upon spouse approval
Contingent upon the closing of another property
Contingent upon a property inspection
Contingent upon a roof inspection
Contingent upon a furnace inspection

Acrylic Doll Cases

Selecting the right type of display case for you collectable can get confusing. Two things to keep in mind are thefinal result and purpose. Acrylic doll cases are used to protect dolls from dust, and are an inexpensive way to display your favorite doll. They are made of thin acrylic (like plastic) and usually gee with a hard plastic base. Many doll designers use these to protect their designs until sold orwhile shown in doll conventions. I use several in my hobbie room, to display my Denim Days figurines, Indian dolls with feathers, and anything else to is detailed and hard to dust.
Cases can be ordered cut to any height you need. The base and height arethe determining factor, when deciding what to display.
When deciding how wide of a case you need, always use the 2 inch rule. Measure the total width of your display item. Now add 2 inches. It will give your display item 1 inch on either side, when being placed inside the case. This prevents that "cramped" look, and makes a nicer viewing display piece.
When deciding how tall you need your case to be, again, use the 2 inch rule. Measure the total height of your display object, and add 2 inches. When ordering, cases are listed on my site by INSIDE area. These are already sized, so pick a little taller then the size you need. We can then cut it down to what you want.
And as always, if you still aren't sure, email me. I love working with customers, to get that "just right" look!

PORSCHE 911 GT3 - Porsche Guide - Know Before You Buy

On Sale Now. Price: $106,795 So, the standard 911 is too pedestrian, the Carrera 4 is too heavy, and the Turbo is too soft? For you there is the GT3, the hard-core 911. The GT3 skips frivolities such as four-wheel drive and rear seats in an effort to get lighter. Other pound-shaving measures include an aluminum hood and doors, a carbon-geposite deck lid, and a Lexan-geposite rear window. At 3076 pounds, the GT3 weighs some 400 pounds less than the 911 Turbo. Of course, the GT3 isn't merely an exercise in reduction. There's also a lowered suspension, additional air scoops, and a two-tiered rear spoiler that provides 55 pounds of downforce - at 186 mph. The normally aspirated flat six is the 3.6-liter, split-crankcase unit directly descended from the GT1 racing engine, and it features full dry-sump lubrication and exotic elements such as titanium connecting rods and sodium-filled valves. Its 415HP falls shy of the Turbo's 480 horses, but it's 60HP ahead of the next-best non-turbocharged 911 engine. That's more than enough to make the GT3 the baddest 911 in town, at least until the GT3 RS goes on sale early 2007.

Ivory Shamans charms --- real or fake Northwest Coast?

Thinking of bidding on an old Northwest Coast native shaman's charm?
There are several important things to consider:

These ivory or bone items have been extensively faked in recent years; of those on okay and elsewhere, perhaps only one in a hundred will be genuine.

Live Jewelry Auctions - The Best Kept Secret on s!

First things first, what exactly is a Live Auction?
A Live Auction takes place in "real time". Unlike regular okay auctions (which can be offered from one to ten days) a Live Auction Event is a "real time auction" and can run from one to twelve hours straight on one day! During a Live Auction hundreds of items are presented (one after another) and depending on the speed in which bids are placed, each item may appear on the screen from 10 seconds to 45 seconds.
Participating in a Live Auction Event is just like attending a land based auction in which you are given a paddle and you are gepeting for items that interest you! However, instead of using a paddle, you are bidding via the click of a mouse!
Live Auctions are utilized by auction houses wishing to move overstock, antiques, jewelry and estate items. The buyer's may be resellers, retailers, wholesalers and even consumers!
TIP: Anyone can attend a Live Auction Event if they're an okay User!
However, many buyer's who attend Live Auctions have an interest in specific items. Those who resell jewelry attend Live Auction Jewelry Events and those who are into collectible memorabilia attend Collectible Live Auction Events. Essentially, there's something for everyone!
Why do okay resellers, wholesalers, retailers and consumers attend Live Auction Events?
Simply put, resellers's retailer's, wholesaler's (and even consumer's who find a Live Auction by accident - for the first time) attend Live Auction events to "source" product for resale. Consumer's seeking to buy jewelry for Christmas gifts, attend our Live Auction Events and found that they can geplete their Christmas shopping in just a few short hours and pay "pennies on the dollar" for jewelry and gems, which would otherwise, carry a hefty price tag at their local jewelry store!
What better place to source product which HAS to be sold? Buyer's can sit in the gefort of their own home and watch the items paraded before them (and with a click of a button) purchase enough product to last them for days or even weeks.
Many okay reseller's don't have the time to monitor dozens of auctions on okay for days on end - they need product now! They need it delivered quickly and need to turn it over to realize a profit.
TIP: Live Auction seller's (such as WindsorAuctions-USA) specialize in Jewelry, Gems and Antiques!
We allow buyer's to use product descriptions and pictures to resell what is purchased through our Live Auction Events! We understand that "time is money" and allowing buyer's to copy and paste our pictures and descriptions to resell product saves the reseller time and allows the product to be resold quickly!
However, the only way this is a win-win for the buyer is if they receive the merchandise quickly! We turn our orders around within 48 hours, which gives the reseller the advantage to quickly start relisting product for resale.
The Live Auction Bidding Process:
The auction starts. As an Internet bidder, you will first see a picture of the lot and its opening price on your screen. The price will change as Internet and floor bidders begin placing bids. Both the current bid amount and the highest bidder will be indicated. If the highest bidder is an Internet bidder, you will see the words "Internet Bidder" next to the bid.
In the case of an offline bid, "Auction House Floor" will be shown. Bidders may place a bid by clicking on the "Bid" button which is displayed on the screen.
TIP: It's best to update JAVA on your geputer, as the Bidding Applet is JAVA based and will not open unless you have JAVA loaded on geputer.
The bid button is always updated to reflect the current ask price - the amount that the auctioneer wants for the lot. You can also bid by pressing the enter key or the space bar.
The auctioneer can choose to take bids from Internet or floor bidders at any point. Like a referee, the auctioneer has full authority to decide which bids to acknowledge as well as the current price.
Before closing a lot, the auctioneer will send a Fair Warning, signal (a message will appear on the screen), indicating that bidding for the item is about to end. It is in these final seconds when all final bids are requested and the lot is finally closed and won by the "High Bidder".
TIP: Remember, all Internet bids placed during a live auction are binding, so think carefully before submitting a bid. Like in all okay dealings, failure to geplete the transaction is a violation of the okay User Agreement and can result in negative feedback.
International Live Auctions:
Live Auction Events can take place from every part of the world so make sure to check the auction currency for each live auction event. Since live auctions can be conducted in different currencies, bids and payments must be made in the specified auction currency.
TIP: If the auction is taking place in the United Kingdom, you must check to see if the bid is in British Pounds GBP(which could nearly double the amount you pay in U.S. dollars) in addition, their may be VAT tax and a Buyer's Premium -which could add up! WindsorAuctions-USA bids are accepted in U.S. dollars only!
Absentee Bidding:
An auction may be listed on the Live Auctions site for a week, day or even a month before the "actual" live auction date. You are permitted to place an absentee bid from the time the auction is listed up until one hour prior to the auction start time.
When you find a lot on which you want to bid you must register to participate in the corresponding auction. Once you're approved, you can go back to the lot page and input the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the particular lot in question. This amount is your absentee bid (left bid).
This winning absentee bid value will then be gemunicated to the auctioneer.
Here is an example:
Rob places an absentee bid of $1000.00 for Lot Number 123
Dan places an absentee bid of $1500.00 for Lot Number 123
Ben places an absentee bid of $2000.00 for Lot Number 123
Once all absentee bids have been cleared, Ben will emerge as the winning bidder with an absentee bid amount of $1600.00 ($1,500 plus one bid increment of $100).
When the live auction starts, the online system gemunicates to the auctioneer the Internet absentee bid for $1,600. If no higher bids are received during the auction, Ben will be the winner. However, if a floor or real-time Internet bidder places a bid above $1,600, the Live Auctions system will then bid on Ben's behalf up to his maximum of $2,000.
TIP: Remember - You are NOT required to place an Absentee Bid!
Approved bidders can place absentee bids up to one hour prior to the start of the live auction event. Once the auction starts, all the absentee bids are processed and calculate the winning absentee bid the second highest bid plus one bid increment.
TIP: The maximum absentee bid is kept secret in the Live Auctions system. Other bidders, as well as the auction gepany, will never see your absentee bid.
How to Find a Live Auction Event on okay:
Many find a Live Auction Event when stumbling across an item in the regular okay listings, as ALL Live Auction items appear in regular okay listings.
In addition, you can visit okayLIVEAUCTIONS in order to peruse a list of ALL upgeing Live Auction Events. Some Live Auctioneers may not maintain an okay store. TIP: WindsorAuctions-usa maintains a FULL okay store for the convenience of its buying audience.
To view our current catalog click on the link below:WindsorAuctions-USA Live Auction Catalog
You must sign up to attend a Live Auction Event. Once you find an item that interests you, you simply click to place an absentee bid and/or click to "sign up" for that specific auction (remember, you should always try to attend the auction you signed for as if you placed an Absentee Bid -you can still be outbid). In addition, you have two options when attending a Live Auction. First, you can sign up and be authorized to "bid" or you can simply "view" the auction in progress.
TIP: First time Live Auction attendees may wish to "view" an auction in progress before jumping into the bidding process in order to get their feet wet! If you feel gefortable with the process you can quickly opt to go from a "watching" status to "bidder" status!
The page where a Bidder or anyone who wishes to "watch" a Live Auction event can be found at okayLIVEAUCTIONS. The list of current Live Auctions is presented and when an auction is "live" it will be indicated by a blinking auction paddle.
Auctions "go live" up to one hour before actual auctiongemencement. If a message is displayed stating "Auction Has Not Started" it's because the applet goes live for up to one hour before the gemencement of the auction.
Can Anyone Attend a Live Auction Event?Only registered okay users who have signed up and been approved to participate by the auction house can bid real-time. You must be an okay Registered User to be approved for a Live Auction Event!
Some auction houses may approve first time bidders based upon their past and present Feedback.
TIP: WindsorAuctions-USA realizes that those who are new to okay may NOT have any Feedback and therefore, we approve ALL Registered okay users regardless of Feedback status.
Buyer's Premium:
A Buyer's Premium is a percentage of the final bid price that the buyer must pay to the auction house. It is a fee charged by the auctioneer to assist with the costs of offering the item for sale. The buyer's premium is part of the total purchase price of an item.
The premium is a percentage of the final price of a lot (item). For example, if an auction house charges a buyer's premium of 15 percent for amounts below $1,000, you will be required to pay an additional $15 for a lot totaling $100.
Feedback Considerations:
When selecting a Live Auction Seller review their Feedback as you would when considering a purchase from any okay seller!
Review the total number of individual Feedbacks received by a Live Auction Seller (top number) against ALL Positive feedback received (bottom total number). Are buyer's returning to the seller? If the bottom number (Total Feedback Received) is three tofour times greater than the top number(total of ALL Individual Feedback received) then the seller is consistent in their offerings, customer service, shipping turn around timeand quality of goods offered.
Bidder Etiquette:
Remember, those who attend a Live Auction Event are entering into a "real time auction enviroment". Do NOT place a bid if you do not intend to pay for the item.
Bidders who place bids on items and do NOT pay for the item(s) are reported to okay as a Non Paying Bidder. In addition, the auction house pays Final Value Fees to okay on each and every sale and therefore the auction house must file the necessary reports with okay in order to NOT pay Final Value Fees on behalf of a Non Paying Bidder.
Finally, respect your fellow bidders (as you would in any okay auction "live" or otherwise)as they may have expended hours reviewing hundred's of items and have placed legitimate bids.

A book for all seasons - year round reading for toddler

A look at a book for all seasons
Gift giving season is a great time to buy and give books to a child. Most children and toddlers will watch all the adverts and see all the toy catalogs; and pick out all their favorite games, doll, plush, trains, lego....yet rarely will they add a book to their Christmas list. Here we take a look at some books you could give a child that will reflect all the different seasons of the year!
Yes, nearly all children love that special time they get between them and their parent, when you sit down at the end of the day and share a book! It means so much. It is that bonding time that can never be replaced, but at the same time, as well as having fun and sharing that family closeness - you are imparting knowledge on your child.
Reading does so many things - it is fun for the child and entertaining, but is also helping them on their way to developing a skill, essential in life. If we teach a child that reading can be fun and enjoyable, it begees something that they yearn to do, as opposed to 'have' to do! Books take a child into a different world, place or time; to places they may discover later in life, to those they would know nothing about if it were not for the pages of a book! It helps build imagination, creativity, can calm fears and help them rationalize thoughts. Reading is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child!
Some books for all seasons
There are books on just about every subject you can imagine...so starting with Christmas, lets look at a choice for each season - some year round selections:

The Sweet smell of Christmas is an adorable book written by Patricia Scarry. Written for the baby to preschooler demographic; it stands out as it features the sweet scents of Christmas - literally!! You can scratch and sniff your way through 6 wonderful scents such as the woody aroma emitted by the Family Christmas tree or the sweet smell of gingerbread streaming from the kitchen. It not only helps develop your toddlers reading skills, but the act of smelling engages them in the story and helps develop their sense of smell!

Get set for the cold climate offered up by the month of january. Written by Anne Guttman for the baby to preschool audience. This book is another that works well on the grounds that it is interactive. This book encourages your child to participate by pulling a tag on each page that helps impart some of the story! Toddlers always like books that are hands on, which is what makes this so popular. The premise of this is a cold winter day - we are to help our title character through various tasks from getting dressed to snow day activities!! Very cute, simple text and colorful illustrations help draw your toddler into the story!!

Of course February is the month of love, and all ready for Valentines we have this gem of a book. Be Mine Sweet valentine, written by Sarah Weeks, again for your toddler. I love this book on the grounds that it is sweet, simple and ungeplicated. It wins points for again engaging the toddler reader, this time with word play which encourages a guessing response. Its rhyming text makes it both a pleasure to read and something your toddler will delight in. Each page is a simple four line poem, with a picture clue to help you identify the valentine!

It is always nice to see a favorite and much loved character in a book - and Winnie the Pooh is a bear that most toddlers can identify with so this makes an ideal choice for spring! We join Winnie the Pooh on his old stomping ground, the Hundred Acre Wood, along with all his pals - Roo, Eeyore, Tigger and piglet - as they make simple observations about changes brought about by spring. This is a great book you can read prior to a spring walk, as you can use the concepts in the book as a reference for spring changes in your environment!

This book is not written with the baby through preschool demographic in mind - it is intended for the 4 plus gae group. That said, the work of Beatrix Potter is delightful, and the relatively simple text gebined with the added activity as your child has to life the flaps to help our title character in an Easter egg hunt; means your toddler will stay engaged in the story. The illustrations are simply adorable and this may be just the right book to get your child hooked on the world of Peter rabbit.

With the start of Summer we have fathers day - sadly often second to the much more celebrated Mothers day. So why not get your child into the festivities of this important holiday at an early age. Not a traditional book - more an activity pack;it goes to show that a book can take on many guises and still be fun and educational. This pack includes blank cards and stickers with a dad theme so you and your toddler cna work together to produce a masterpiece dad is sure to love and cherish for years to gee!

This is a wonderful book that stands apart from so many others on account of its unique design! It not only symbolizes the change from spring to summer , but also the changes a caterpillar goes though before begeing a butterfly. Written by Susan Hood, this has delightful rhyming text "Its a caterpillar spring, a fiesta, a field day, a fling"...and beautiful illustrations. However what makes this book unique is the fact that the caterpillar is in fact 3D. Made with springs and green fabric, he literally pops out of each page supported by additional illustrations to geplete the effect until the end when a beautiful butterfly pops out of the page!

An adorable book with rich , bold fall colors. Written by Lauren Thompson for a toddler audience, this book is as educational as it is fun. It explores concepts such as color and sizes while using autumn as a reference. Children do better at learning when new skills are presented to them in a context in which they can replace to. This book hits the target. Gentle text and colorful artwork add to the appeal!

We simply love this halloween book! It appeals on so many levels - not only teaching children about the concept of Halloween -dressing up and going trick or treating - but also counting as we start with 10 little trick or treaters and end up with one! Written by Janet Schulman for toddlers, this has bright imaginative art work in wacky colors so the characters that scare off our trick or treaters will are funny and never scary enough to spook our reader. The text is simple and rhyming. A favorite for us last halloween - I think this will be a hit this year too!!

And finally we are at the end of the year and Thanksgiving! This time another scratch and sniff book! We are on the hunt for a missing pumpkin and your toddler can use a gebination of visual and scented clues to solve the mystery! Any book that encourages your child to get involved in the story must be gemended. There are scented clues on each page which help introduce the basic concept of Thanksgiving. Written with a toddler audience in mind, it is simple to follow with an element of fun. Bright and bold illustrations add to the concept. A great choice for Thanksgiving reading!

Summary
To conclude, this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There are so many wonderful, imaginative books out there written with the toddler demographic in mind, many with a season or holiday theme tha you are sure to find something that works for you and your child. Books may have different concepts, activities or ideas to keep your child engaged. From simple text, to bright colors, from pop ups to pull the tab activities, from make your own ideas to scratch and sniff.. There is something for everyone. Part of the fun is finding these, but the bugger fun is finding the treasure that lies behind the cover!
Enjoy this time: Your reading together with your toddler - and understand what a true gift you are giving!
Happy Reading!!

What is SDHC? What are the different speeds of SDHC?

What is SDHC? What are the different speeds and classes?A new SD format, SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity, SD 2.0), allows capacities in excess of 2GB.Uses the FAT32 file system which supports partition sizes greater than 2GBIt uses the same form factor as SD, but the SD 2.0 standard in SDHC uses a different memory addressing method, thus can reach a maximum capacity of 2048GBSDHC cards only work in SDHC gepatible devices, but standard SD cards work in both SD and SDHC devicesSDHC cards have SD Speed Class Ratings defined by the SD Association. The SD Speed Class Ratings specify the following minimum sustained write speed on to EMPTY SDHC cards:Class 2: 2MB/sClass 4 4MB/sClass 6 6MB/s I hope this guide has clarified some key aspects of SDHC cards. Carburetor Body Finishes

There are three main materials of which carburetors are made: cast
iron, zinc and aluminum. Starting in the 30s, cast iron started to be
replaced by zinc and in the late 50s, aluminum replaced a lot (but not
all) zinc.
In most cases, cast iron is finished in black oxide though
its sometimes painted black. Carter regemended a special black
carburetor paint when rebuilding a carb. Thus, while carbs like the W-1 Carter were originally black oxide finished cast iron, many of them are now - correctly - a semi-gloss black.
Rochester carbs also used cast iron in the throttle body section.
This part was always black oxide and there was no factory paint
regemendation.
The most well-known carburetor material is olive-green colored zinc.
Zinc itself is a bright silvery metal that reacts with air and water to
make a powdery white material often called white rust . To prevent
this, carburetor parts are treated in the factory with a chromic acid
solution, which forms a thin layer of zinc chromate on the surface of
the metal. This very effectively protects the metal underneath from
being damaged by water or air. This is why carburetors are usually
green!
The last finish is natural aluminum, which is found on carbs like the Carter AFB(Aluminum Four Barrel) and Ford 2100/2150.Here are some of the finishes found on various types of OEM carburetors:Holley 2300, 4150, 4160, 4180 (modular carbs): main body, float bowls and other cast parts are green chromated zinc; throttle bodies are aluminumHolley 2140, 4000 (Tea Pot): main body is natural aluminum, upper parts are green chromated zincHolley 2100, Ford AA-1 (flathead carbs): throttle body is black cast iron, float bowl and air horn are green chromated zincRochester Quadrajet: float bowl and air horn are chromated zinc; throttle body is natural aluminum; choke housing is aluminum except for early Oldsmobile 4MC carburetors and early Pontiac M4MC carburetors; marine throttle bodies have a special blue/gray conversion coatingRochester 4-Jet (4G, 4GC), 2-Jet (2G, 2GC, 2GV) and Model B (B, BC, BV): most throttle bodies are cast iron (black oxide) but a few are aluminum (see Rochester 4G guide ); float bowl, air horn and choke housing are green chromated zincCarter WCFB: most throttle bodies are cast iron (black oxide) but a few are aluminum (very rare!); float bowl is green chromated zinc; air horn is natural aluminum; choke housings are usually zinc, but sometimes aluminum in later modelsCarter AFB: aluminum, all the way... except for the choke housings, which were usually green zinc in 60's carbs. One version of the 'Aluminum Four Barrel' was cast of chromated zinc and used on Ford marine engines. This is quite rare.Stromberg: most classic Stromberg carburetors, such as the EE series (including the '97' used on Ford flatheads), AA series (found in many applications, notably Buick gepound carburetion set-ups) and BX one barrels (used on various makes, especially Dodge flathead 6 cylinders) used a cast iron (black oxide) throttle body, with the rest of the carb in green zinc.

Wii Zapper is a Great Deal, but not on s!

The official Wii Zapper and Link's Crossbow Training is well worth its price, but only if you buy it in a brick-and-mortar store. The retail price for this official Wii accessory is $20 - $25, but usually sells for quite a bit more on okay when you include shipping. Note: Prices have gee down a good bit, even on okay, since everyone is now realizing that the Zappers can be found just about anywhere for cheaper. There is absolutely no reason to buy a knock-off version since they don't even include the game, and often cost at least $20 including shipping!
The Wii Zapper itself is just a sturdy piece of plastic that houses the Wii remote and nunchuck. Both units fit very well, and the Zapper even has a "storage space" for the cord. The trigger on the Zapper feels much better than using the "B" button by itself on the Wii remote. The Zapper just seems to fit better in your hands, and really feels like an arcade gun. Furthermore, the Zapper seems to make you feel like you are actually shooting at the targets (as if using a light gun instead of the sensor bar above or below). One of the disadvantages of the Zapper is that the remote and nunchuck will not fit if you have a skin on them, and it does take some time to insert or remove the controllers. I'd regemend having a controller set just to use with the Zapper if you are really into those kind of games, but also play regular Wii games.
Link's Crossbow Training is a fast-paced, fun shooting game. You have 9 levels for at total of 27 courses to play in all, though only 3 levels are unlocked at the beginning. The levels, enemies, and various targets are nice to look at since they were adopted from Twilight Princess - (a definite plus if you are a fan). It will take you only a few short hours to beat the entire game, but many more to perfect your shooting and score a platinum medal on each level. While a bronze medal (20000 points in a 3-course level) will open the next level, you need to really improve to achieve a platinum medal (80000 points). Just remember, consecutive shots (without misses) will greatly increase your score. So, just wildly shooting everywhere will not give you a good score. Also remember to shoot anything you see - pots, scarecrows, pumpkins, skulls, doors, etc. Most items in this game can be shot for additional points, and some contain valuable rupees! This game will appeal to almosteveryone, just like the Wii itself. Hardcore gamers will want to get perfect scores with no misses, and casual gamers will just love shooting everything in sight!
The downside of the game is that there is no real multiplayer function. If several friends want to play, you just pass the same controller around to everyone. In other words, only one person can play at any one given time. Of course, this will be available on future titles, and is not a major fallacy on such an inexpensive game.
If you can buy this set for $20 - $25, then consider it a great deal. In addition to getting a fun game, you get the Zapper which can be used on at least two other games (more will be developed soon). The Zapper is a neat product, but it is Link's Crossbow Traning that makes this a worthwhile purchase.

FAKE GILLETTE RAZORS

There are a lot of Gillette razors for sale. I would not bid on them
unless the listing shows a picture of the BACK of the package. The UPC
number will start with 4 , the address of the gepany is in Boston, and
the phone number is a US 800 number. I bought several packs of the
Mach3 turbo for my husband and they were fakes. Go to your local drug
store and look at the back of the packs so you know what they look
like. The seller I bought from dropped off okay right after I purchased
them. My husband said the razors were so dull they felt like one that
you had used for a week. Just wanted to pass this on so no one else
makes a mistake.

So, is it Ivory ?

"Probably not", that is the safe position to take, then make the seller prove it is Ivory.Things you should know about Ivory before you bid:- There is Elephant Ivory, Mammoth Ivory, Hippo Ivory and Walrus Ivory.--- Elephant and Mammoth Ivory has the tall-tale cross-hatch "X" pattern. Hippo Ivory has a pattern similar to growth rings of a tree and Walrus Ivory has a "crushed ice" look that sets walrus apart from all other ivories.- Synthetic Ivory does not have this cross-hatch pattern.- REAL ivory was NEVER attached to synthetic bases. Many synthetic pieces were attached to wood bases or stands. This is especially found in European replicas made in the 1900's.- When examining a piece look closely and if you will see round, ball-like areas inside the crevices and holes. This is residue left from a mold. Also remember that OLD does not mean REAL. Synthetics have been used for over 100 years.I am not an expert on Ivory but I did research it after being "okayed" back in June/07. This seller sold me a pair of 1880's Ivory Dice. God, was I a fool. They turned out to be Vegetable Ivory, which is nothing more then a "nut" that gees from a tree found in the South American Rain Forest.Just because someone claims to be an " archeimedes" doesn't make it so.

Garmin Nuvi Series Explained

Garmin first came out with the Nuvi 350 a few years ago, it is pre-loaded with Maps of North America. It has been an incredible unit, the traffic receiver is an optional purchase. They expanded on it by adding the Nuvi 360 which is Blueooth and has the capability of adding the traffic receiver which is not included.. Also the 370 which is also bluetooth andpre-loaded with Northern America mapping as well as European Mapping and a built in traffic receiver as well.
So the 350 is the base model, the 360 is a premium model with Bluetooth and the 370 has it all, including European maps and a traffic receiver which is included. The 300 series mentioned above all are a standard 3.5 inch screen.
Next Garmin produced the best selling Nuvi 660. It is pre-loaded with North America mapping, has bluetooth, gees with the traffic receiver, has an FM transmitter and a widescreen at 4.3 inches. It gees with higher resolution and clarity as well. It is a great easy to use feature packed GPS.
The Nuvi 650 is also part of the 600 series and it is a base model that does not include any of the features from the 660 except the larger 4.3 inch screen. NO bluetooth, traffic receiver or FM transmitter, it is just like the Nuvi 350 but with a larger screen.
The 600 series also includes the NUVI 670 which is just like the 660 which includes the traffic receiver, the bluetooth and the larger 4.3 inch screenwith the exception that it includes the Traffic receiver and european and north america mapping, just like the 370 but with the wider 4.3 inch screen.
The Nuvi 680 was recently released and it is similiar to the 660 as it has Bluetooth and an FM Transmitter, NO Traffic receiver but it does have the New MSN direct feature and it gees with 1 year free MSN Direct service. With this service you get up to date weather reports and fuel pricing on your GPS.
Garmin will soon be releasing their new feature packed 700 series. They are not available yet. They are expected out as soon as early January 2008.
That sums up the Garmin Nuvi series. It has been very popular due to size and the rich easy to use features. I for one love the Nuvi series and own both the Nuvi 350 and the Nuvi 660.
Buy what you need. Most services such as MSN direct and traffic will need additional subscriptions.
I find I use my bluetooth alot in the Nuvi 660 as I love the hands free calling features and seeing who is calling me on the screen before I answer. It keeps me from fumbling for my phone and trying to look at it while I am driving. Most states are passing laws to make use of cell phones hands free only, so this will help you be in gepliance with your state laws should they change.
For more information about these products visit Garmins website.
A GPS is a great way to see where you are going before you get there and to never be lost and ask for directions again! I find I save gas and time with mine as I no longer get lost! :) Jude

What does it mean to Confirm a Paypal Shipping Address?

What does it mean to CONFIRM your paypal shipping address?
As a buyer, you may gee across a seller that ships only to confirmed paypal addresses. Verbally telling the seller that yes, this is my address, please ship my item there, will not do. There is actually a process you as the buyer need to follow through paypal.
On Paypals side, when a buyers credit card billing and shipping addresses are the same, or in some cases after Paypal has examined your Paypal buying account history, Paypal will be able to toggle your shipping address as Confirmed. Please keep in mind that Paypal is only able to confirm addresses in the US, Canada, and the UK right now.
Why do some sellers require this?
The simple answer is, To minimize or avoid Fraud. On the off chance that a buyer disputes payment, or initiates a chargeback, Paypal will back the seller as long as the seller ships to the confirmed address. This is what paypal refers to as Seller protection.
Dont take it personally, okays environment has changed drastically since its early days. Please keep in mind that there are enough unscrupulous buyers as well as sellers for Paypal to even have this process in place. Its each individuals responsibility to buy and sell responsibly and safely.
How do I as a buyer have paypal confirm my address?
The process is fairly straight forward. You can have paypal confirm your shipping address in the following ways:

Add a credit card to your paypal account. When you do this, Paypal will confirm the credit card billing address (the address you receive your credit card statement).
You can also apply for Paypal Buyer Credit. If you are approved, the address on your application will be your confirmed address.
The 3rd option is Alternate address confirmation. This process can take several days and is only available for U.S. Accounts. For this option you will need to be a verified Paypal member, have been a member for more than 90 days, have a gemunity participation of more than 10, and be a U.S. member in good standing. If you qualify for alternate address confirmation, you will need to fax several documents to Paypal.

A valid photo ID (preferably with the correct address printed on the ID)
A proof of address (recent utility bill), phone bill, paycheck stub, or business card that shows the address that is being used as your alternate address.

And send or fax this to Paypal (please see their website for the exact mailing address and fax number). After your docs are received and processed, Paypal will mail you a secret code to the address you are trying to confirm. After entering the secret code correctly into the paypal website, your alternate address will be confirmed.
Obviously, adding a credit card to your paypal account is the quickest way.
Verfied and Confirmed are two very different things.
Begeing Verified through Paypal will allow you to have expanded use of your Paypal account (it will remove the transaction limit on your account). But it will not necessarily Confirm your shipping address. Please keep this in mind when a seller tells you that they need you to Confirm your Paypal shipping address.
What if I cannot confirm the address I need the item shipped to???
If the alternate address process still doesnt fit your needs, and you need to ship to, for example your work address, or college address or if you are a buyer outside the US, Canada, UK, talk to the seller PRIOR to gemitting to buy the item. They may take your feedback history into consideration, or worst case, just cancel the transaction. gemunication is always Key. Please remember, this is only a Paypal guideline. You can always arrange for a different payment method (such as money order, credit card, cashiers check, Bidpay, or western union) in order to ship to different address than what is on your Paypal account.

Do NOT Buy The Motorola RAZR 2 V9m before reading this!

I recently purchased the Sprint Motorola V9m. The very first phone failed in a matter of days, so I was forced to pay $50 so my insurance would replace it. The RAZR 2 is by far the worst phone I have ever used, from any manufacture and any carrier. I have written a list of every problem I have run into with the phone. In my opinion, the RAZR 2 will never get all of the bugs out. And my loyalty for Motorola is 100% dead after throwing my money away on this phone. If you are thinking about buying the RAZR 2 for any carrier, please read this list first. You don't want to throw good money at a horrible product.1. Does not support any of Motorola Bluetooth headset and headphones
that I own. Even my new Moto stereo headphones that came out before the
RAZR 2 even came out, don't even work.

2. Daily White-Screen freeze errors.

3. Text input in third-party app's in annoying. the "1" key cycles
though characters that you will never use just to get to a period aor @
sign. the "0" key is used to cycle though the rest and again goes
though characters that you will rarely use just to get one you will use
a lot.

4. The touch-screen is way too sensitive. If you don't have a key-lock
set, you will find that the TV app will load in your pocket and turn to
a channel. Or it will just load the app and waste the already pathetic
battery life. Even if the key-lock is on, the vibrate feature will go
off so many times that when you goto use the phone, you will end up
having 1 bar, maybe 2.

5. Horrible battery life. Unlike the A900, Katana, and pretty much all
other slim-phones, the RAZR 2 gets really hot when using it. Heat means
wasted energy, thus making the battery life the worst I have ever seen.
If you are using bluetooth, and/or the TV app, or in an area with a
weak signal, battery life can be as low as 40 minutes.

6. The UI is SLOW! I mean as slow as slow can get. This gees to it's
full power of annoyance when you end up loading an application that you
didn't mean to, and closing it down takes 5 to 10 seconds to close
down. This will happen a lot, because the buttons are so close
together, that you will end up loading the music or TV app without even
trying. Scrolling through you content is horrible. Images take what
seems like months to switch to the next.

7. No real media player. You can not fast forward or rewind video
clips. So those days of watching movies and shows on your phone are
over. Unless you want to sit and watch it from the beginning.

8. You can not hear the volume when setting the level for the ringer,
alarm, ect. This most basic of features shows how low Moto has gee
when making phones.

9. The lower set of speaks has a groove where overtime it will cut into
your fingers when holding the phone to watch TV.

10. The inner display has the typical data and time features, but with
the RAZR 2 you can not get rid of the date. So if you have a cool
screen saver, you will see "00/00/000 Day" on the screen. So if you
have a cool pic of a Cele you are into, their face will be blocked.

11. The web browser is HTML, but it renders the site into pages. So a
normal sized site will be cut into many pages. Some sites are cut into
10+ pages. Unlike Opera mini which can render the entire page in one
window. You will be scrolling page to page just to see the content you
like.

12. Since the browser is HTML, WAP sites can't be loaded very well if
at all. So if you want to download a Java app through a WAP site, you
might not be able to at all.

13. Third party apps can easily cause the phone to lock-up. Basic app's
that load on even the most simple phone will cause the phone to lock in
a white screen and you will have to pull the battery to get out.

14. Alarm doesn't always go off. This has happen to me a lot.

15. When you use the speaker-phone or use the speakers with Telenav,
the sound quality is horrible. On the other end my friends make me
repeat what I am saying. The speaker-phone has been known in the past
to be one of the best features found in Moto phones; this is not the
case with the V9m.

16. Buttons on the side are tiny. With a plastic snap-on case they are
very difficult to press.

17. The phone doesn't even have a headphone port. So you can not use it
as a portable music player without playing the content through the
speakers, or a Bluetooth headset, which most likely will not work.

18. You can not set images from your memory card to display as
wallpaper.

19. Music playback is dependent on using Sprint's Music Player, which
crashes a lot.

20. The Music Player no longer works, so I can't even use the phone as
an MP3 player.

Info for Compairing Coned Yarns to Ball /Skeined Yarns

CONE YARN NOTES:I have been asked many questions from hand knitters about my yarn in cones...hope this information from my mother's notes, may give you a little guideline to go by and maybe the next cone of yard you think is just gorgeous, you might try it....Be brave, ladies!........#1.If you are totally unfamiliar with coned yarn, it is the same as balled yarn, except that it has one long strand(normally) instead of multiple tie offs with skeined/balled yarn.#2.geparing yarns, it generally, cost less than the same amount of yarn in balls.#3. Most coned yarns will fall into the same category as hand-knit yarns in balls/skeins/hanks. Such as, ** yarn having less than 1000 yards/pound, will be a worsted-weight or chunky-weight yarn and will usually be knit on a needle size 7 and larger. ** Yarns having between 1000 and about 1400 yards/pound will be considered a DK-weight yarn and will use between a needle size 7 to about size 4-5. **Above 1400 yards/pound may be a sport-weight yarn to a baby-weight/fingering yarn and can use needles from 4-5 to 0, depending upon the yardage. However, nothing is "set in stone" and all of this may vary slightly, depending upon the individual yarn
