Real Authentic Tommy Bahama Hawaiian Shirts

How do you tell the difference between authentic Tommy Bahama and Fake?
For starters, authentic shirts contains a real tag on the inside. It is a long horizontal tag with the wording in written and a palm tree centered in the middle. See below.

Then there is another tag located directly above to the right of the Tommy Bahama tag. This will list the size first, then what the shirt is made off, which is usually 100% silk. Then it shows Made in China, followed by Copyrighted Print. See below.

On the back of the same tag above, there is a RN #, In this case it is RN #86549. See below.

The next tag, which is hard to fake, is located on the bottom right hand portion of the shirt while you a wearing the shirt. It contains another authentic TB logo with a palm tree in the middle. It will be in a square patch which is below the last button. See below.

There is another tag located within the shirt giving the wash instructions. There will be a difference in font on the fakes, along with bottom wash logos. See below.

On the back of this tag, there should be 2 spare coconut buttons. Both will be different sizes. One will be the collar button and the other will be the regular buttons. See below.

When looking to buy authentic always check the buttons to make sure they are of a coconut texture. See below.

Some other signs that the shirt may not be authentic is the texture listed. For example, I stated most if not all, are made of 100% silk. You should feel the shirt to see if it really is silk. A lot of fakes do not feel like silk. Many are made of other textures.
Know where you are buying the shirt from. If you are buying from a reputable store, you will know it is authentic. If you are buying from a thrift store, it may not be authentic. The shirt listed in pictures above was purchased froma reputable vacation resort that sold Tommy Bahama clothing line.
Please note: These pictures and guide are for the purpose of older Tommy Bahama shirts. The newer shirts now have embroidered lettering andhave updated their inside collar labels since.
